1. Is the Healing House training program a valid business expense?
Yes it is.
2. Where is the next intensive training session?
3. Do I need a specific background in natural medicine to become a Healing House Host?
No, you don’t. Our application process will determine your eligibility.
4. What if I don’t own my own residence?
You can run a Healing House out of a rented space or go to people’s homes.
5. Will I need special insurance?
We are still researching this and will post the answer as soon as we know.
6. How will I get guests?

7. I do not have a business background—I would not even know how to begin a Healing House.
As part of the training, you will receive the information you need to start and operate your own Healing House.
8. I have pets at home—will this be a problem?
This information will be listed under your Healing House on our website and potential guests can choose. We find that pets can help the healing process…
9. I have children living at home, will this be a problem?
This information would be listed on the website and requires a common sense approach to balance family and guests.
10. I have carpets—will I need to replace them with hardwood or tiles etc?
Not necessarily. It’s up to you if you want to be able to accommodate people with environmental sensitivities. Also, carpets will need regular vacuuming.
11. I don’t know much about nutrition and cooking.
We will teach you all the basics you need to know and you will continue learning as you go.
12. I am not comfortable with having a guest who is (male, female, dying, etc.).
It will be your choice who can be your guests and that will be a unique characteristic/niche of your Healing House which will be listed on the website and your marketing materials.
13. Is there follow-up training?
Yes, we are planning an annual update for Hosts.
14. How do I become and remain a registered Host?
There is an annual fee of $600 after successfully completing the training program. As well, you need to be free of major complaints from your guests.
15. What if my guest has a medical emergency?
We will train you to deal with medical emergencies in conjunction with the current medical system such as ambulances and hospitals. You will also be expected to obtain a certificate in 1st Aid.
16. I don’t have wheelchair access.
You can install one or list without one. Many guests won’t require wheelchair access.
17. What is the benefit of being a registered Host with Healing House Canada?
The benefits include: excellent training, professional follow-up support, widespread exposure through our website , our national marketing program and referral network, and access to the annual update training sessions.
1. Which treatments are available and included in my Healing House stay?
Nutrition, rejuvenative exercises, meditation, simple herbal remedies, juicing and detoxification, emotional healing techniques, Ayurvedic lifestyle tips and naturopathic healing principles which you can take back into your everyday life.
2. Are the Healing House expenses tax deductible or covered by insurance?
Not yet, but we are working on it. We eventually hope to have Healing Houses included under provincial insurance plans.
3. Who will supervise the medical aspect of my stay?
It can be your naturopathic doctor, medical doctor or specialist, chiropractor or anyone else you trust with your health care. Hosts are trained to work with a variety of health care practitioners.
4. How do I find practitioners who will work with the Healing House system?

5. What happens if there is a medical emergency?
Hosts are trained to deal with emergencies in conjunction with the current medical system i.e. ambulances and hospitals. They will also find out what the guest preference is in case of emergency.
6. Can I bring my pet?
That is up to each individual Host and will be listed on our website.
7. How do I choose a Healing House for my specific needs?
Registered Healing Houses will be described in detail on our website and you can choose what fits for you. If you need assistance, someone in our office can help you.
8. Can I bring my spouse/support person with me?
Yes, we encourage you to bring them if you need to. They can be an important part of your healing. There is usually a reduced rate for them.
9. What about children?
They can come if the Host agrees.
10. Is there transportation available to appointments outside of the Healing House?
This is up to each Host and will be listed on the website.
11. When will Healing Houses be available?
