Sandy Rawson, Host
Sandy is a helper; a strong, reliable nurturer with a gentleness that others find inspiring. She is a roll-up-your-sleeves and get the job done kind of worker, friend and confidante. Whether preparing a meal, installing a bathroom fixture, or strolling through the forest with a guest, Sandy always gives 110%.
As a Healing House Host, Sandy is able to combine her appreciation for healing and natural health principles with her love of the outdoors and well developed problem-solving skills.
Sandy’s energetic, yet thoughtful approach to life is uniquely calming and joyfully pleasing. An easy and effective communicator, Sandy is responsive to each guest’s individual needs. She instinctively knows the importance of listening. She honours the role that rest has in healing. And she welcomes the opportunity to make the most of each day.
A life-long learner, Sandy has a certificate in Crisis Management and a Human Psychology and the Community Diploma. She has successfully completed courses in JourneyWork, NLP, Quantum Touch, Reiki, and Learning Intelligence.
Carol McGuire, Host
There is something wonderfully warm about the way Carol relates to people. She is happily calm, caring and creative, with an infectious smile and an optimistic outlook.
Trained as a Registered Nursing Assistant (RNA), Carol has embraced the role of Healing House Host as a natural extension of her personal commitment to make a difference in the lives of others.
"It is my hope that each guest leaves here with knowledge, and that this knowledge will help them to change their lives forever,” she says.
Carol’s capacity for kindness is matched only by her willingness to listen and learn, both from other members of the Healing House team and from the guests she so enjoys. She is engaged in what she does; she is genuinely dedicated to the well-being of those in her charge. And she has earned the unwavering respect of the natural health practitioners at the Carp Ridge Ecowellness Centre.
“I get excited when a new guest is coming,” says Carol. “I like learning about people and spending time with them.”
Carol has her Level 1 in Reike and has a keen interest in fitness. She welcomes Carp Ridge Healing House guests to join her in Pilates and Yoga.
